Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class guest service : greet guests, respond to questions / concerns promptly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, and promote additional items.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases / returns accurately using POS, ensuring correct changes, receipts, and top-notch service.
- Respond to guest questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
- Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in, Pro Rewards).
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies and procedures.
- Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address performance as directed; input written feedback into the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance training for associates prior to opening or closing shifts.
- Schedule store associates, manage breaks, and oversee staffing to ensure quality guest service.
- Approve payroll and verify time off and pay for all time worked.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandised layout per company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment function properly.
- Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ensure daily shipment.
- Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
- Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete administrative duties.
- Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized.
- Balance and reconcile daily transactions; manage cash and deposits per guidelines.
- Verify shipments, record discrepancies, and conduct inventories; communicate issues to leadership.
- Process defectives / recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing.
- Maintain safety awareness; report injuries per guidelines.
- Keep store records organized and ensure manuals are up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Adhere to all company policies and opening / closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.Must be at least 18 years old.High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and / or management experience preferred.Video game knowledge preferred.Key Job Skills and Abilities
Outgoing personality with strong people skills; provide genuine assistance to guests.Clear verbal and written communication; English required; bilingual English / Spanish preferred.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; work independently and in a team.Meet performance expectations; maintain attendance, appearance, safety, and respectful workplace.Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills.Complete required paperwork; follow written or oral instructions.Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days / week).Problem-solver; reliable and trustworthy; able to work alone and stand / move for extended periods.Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform related tasks.Benefits and Compensation
Benefits : Full-time store positions may be eligible for incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance. Additional incentives or bonuses may apply.
Compensation : $10.75 - $14.75 per hour.
