Operating Room RN Job Details Location : Chicago, IL 60612 (Illinois nursing jobs) Facility Type : Level 1 Trauma Center Operating Room Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Contract Start Date : November 25, 2025 End Date : February 24, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Evening, 5x8-hour shifts (2 : 30pm - 11 : 00pm) Hours per Week : 40 (Guaranteed) Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) Call Requirement : One 12-hour shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday (7am-7pm or 7pm-7am) Floating : Mandatory float within facility and to other units within 50 miles Estimated Weekly Pay : $2750-$2820 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at submission) Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience as an Operating Room RN Level 1 Trauma Center experience required Strong scrub and circulate skills in the OR Experience with Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery cases BLS certification (American Heart Association) required COVID-19 vaccine required (no exemptions) Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions allowed) Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting assignment Compliance documentation due one week prior to orientation Locals accepted (must live within 75 miles of facility) Preferred : Experience in Neurosurgery (crani and spine), Open Heart / Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology Operating Room RN Responsibilities Provide safe, effective patient care in the Operating Room, performing both scrub and circulate duties Assist with a wide range of surgical procedures : Ortho, Trauma, Vascular, Urology, General Surgery, and more Respond to trauma cases as a key member of the Level 1 Trauma Center team Float to other nursing units as needed to support hospital operations Participate in scheduled weekend and call rotations Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health record system Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, including time off and vaccination requirements Ready to take your next step in travel nursing?
