Fourtillfour is a café built on community, craftsmanship, and culture. We serve coffee with care and intention, creating a space where guests feel connected to the brand, to each other, and to the atmosphere that surrounds it.

Our Encinitas café sits along the 101 in Leucadia, tucked between surf shops, art studios, and local landmarks. The space operates from a custom trailer that has become a familiar part of the neighborhood — coastal, welcoming, and full of character. Guests come for the coffee, but they stay for the spirit of the space and the people who bring it to life.

Rooted in vintage automotive culture and a shared love of exploration, Fourtillfour hosts gatherings, drives, and events that celebrate curiosity and connection. The café carries that same energy every day, blending hospitality, design, and storytelling in a way that feels alive and intentional.

About the Role

We are hiring a General Manager to lead our Encinitas café and guide the team that keeps it running at its best. This role oversees daily operations, team performance, financial health, and guest experience while keeping everything aligned with the larger brand vision.

The General Manager will work closely with the Director of Operations, Events Coordinator, and creative team to bring brand activations and community events to life through the café. The goal is to keep operations running smoothly while building the foundation for the next chapter of Fourtillfour, which will be the transition from our trailer café into a full storefront.

The right candidate will bring both structure and creativity, using strong systems and leadership to elevate every detail of how the café runs and feels.

Compensation will be reassessed quarterly based on performance and the achievement of KPIs as the role scales toward the opening of our 2.0 café.

You will lead a space that carries deep character and community connection while helping lay the groundwork for our future 2.0 storefront. The systems, culture, and standards you build here will become the foundation for how Fourtillfour continues to grow.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily café operations including scheduling, ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships.
• Manage financial performance through thoughtful labor and cost of goods control to achieve profitability targets.
• Lead and develop the team through consistent coaching, feedback, and accountability.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and service ready café that meets Fourtillfour standards in quality, design, and flow.
• Build and sustain systems that support operational efficiency and consistency.
• Forecast potential challenges and thoughtfully anticipate solutions before issues arise.
• Partner with leadership to analyze café data and use insights to strengthen performance and strategy.
• Work cross functionally with the Director of Operations, Events Coordinator, and creative team to plan and execute events and brand activations.
• Ensure events are fully integrated with café operations, including scheduling, staffing, and brand presentation.
• Represent the brand during events or delegate trusted leadership to ensure seamless execution and guest connection.
• Support product launches, menu updates, and operational rollouts with structured training and clear communication.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development to build a strong and consistent team.
• Foster a culture of communication, accountability, and growth through regular check ins and team meetings.
• Protect the guest experience by keeping standards high, systems clear, and the café environment welcoming.
• Collaborate with leadership on quarterly planning, forecasting, and growth initiatives.
• Maintain alignment between day to day operations and the larger brand vision.

Compensation will be reviewed quarterly based on performance, execution, and achievement of key performance indicators. As the café scales toward the opening of our 2.0 storefront, the role will expand in scope and pay. Fourtillfour is growing, and we are looking for someone eager to grow with it.
