WATER RESOURCES ENGINEER

Thomas & Hutton has an opening for a highly motivated and ambitious Water Resources Engineer based in Atlanta, GA (Chamblee). Candidates should have a firm understanding and knowledge of hydrologic & hydraulic principles, design and analysis as well as Autodesk Civil3D.

Typical Duties Include :

Design and drafting of construction plans, preparation of contract documents, quantity take-offs and opinions of construction costs for stormwater capital improvement projects, including open / closed system drainage rehabilitation, canals and flood control structures.

Perform and / or conduct hydrologic analysis, hydraulic analysis and water quality analysis of open channel and / or closed conduit stormwater collection systems.

Ability to design site-specific best management practices (BMPs) to achieve permitting requirements including conventional, low impact development and stormwater volume control BMPs,

Preparation of permit applications and supporting documentation to obtain regulatory construction permits.

Preparation of one- and two-dimensional hydrologic / hydraulic models, FEMA CLOMR / LOMR applications, documents and exhibits and drainage reports.

Ability to use HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ICPR, XPSWMM, ArcMap, and AutoCAD Civil 3D software preferred; two-dimensional hydraulic modeling a plus.

Requirements :

• 6+ years total engineering experience
• 5+ years experience including Hydrology & Hydraulic design and analysis
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer License with ability to obtain reciprocity in Georgia or South Carolina within six months of hire.
