Job description

Multiple James Beard Award–winning restaurateurs Stephen Starr and Keith McNally partnered for the revival of Pastis NYC , the legendary French restaurant that crafted the Meatpacking District into the dining destination it is today. Serving traditional French fare with a newly invigorated soul, the restaurant’s classic curved zinc bar, outfitted with signature subway tiles, vintage mirrors, mosaic-tiled floor, and gold-tinged lighting, evokes nostalgia. Offering breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch, and dinner, guests can enjoy gathering at any time of day — or visit us at Pastis Miami, Washington, D.C., Nashville, and soon, West Palm Beach.

We are conducting a national search for a dynamic  Service Director  to lead our team in providing polished yet exciting and memorable dining experiences to all of our guests.

This position offers a comprehensive package including :

  • A base salary range of $95,000 - $105,000
  • Quarterly bonus program

Core Responsibilities :

Leadership

  • Function as a role model to staff and maintain a positive, lead-by-example presence, always working to improve team morale, education, and the restaurant.
  • Coach and develop the FOH hourly staff members to improve performance and ensure all steps of service, changes in steps of service, and STARR standards are being achieved.
  • Build the Team

  • Assist the General Manager with overseeing all aspects of the staffing of the restaurant and supervision of hourly employees. Including but not limited to interviewing & hiring, staff retention, seasonal business changes and staffing trends, scheduling, training, annual appraisals, and evaluations.
  • Build the Business

  • Maintain quality operations with attention to detail and maximize hospitality on the floor while ensuring the service team delivers exceptional, consistent service, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the front door operations and help to actively Identify and recognize regular and VIP guests to build repeat and referral business.
  • Maintain prescribed labor targets through adaptive scheduling and accurate forecasting.
  • Desired candidates will have :

  • A minimum of 3 years of restaurant management experience in a culinary and hospitality-driven restaurant
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and inspire service team members
  • Prior familiarity with POS, ALOHA & Resy software systems is highly preferred
  • A positive and self-motivated disposition, with the desire to learn and grow professionally
  • A commitment to excellence and team success
  • A love for French cuisine & culture -  a plus!
