Our Facilities Maintenance Department has an immediate opening for a dedicated HVAC
Technician to maintain our City buildings that require constant support and maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical, access control and HVAC maintenance as well as any other duties assigned by the Facilities Manager.
We are looking for a professional who can take the initiative and help anticipate problems before they occur. The ideal candidate has diagnostic experience to include change out and chillers, layout of installation of wiring and installs wiring, conduit.
Experience in servicing HVAC equipment such as heat pumps, heating and cooling systems, repairing and servicing boilers, heating systems, hot water heating, and steam condensate pumps is a major plus.
Must be able to communicate effectively with City staff, coworkers, vendors and anyone whom you may encounter on the job.
As the new HVAC Technician you will be responsible for performing skilled and complex daily activities in the maintenance, repair and construction of public facilities and other structures to include HVAC.

Essential Job Functions
Performs maintenance in a specific trade discipline on all City owned facilities and
operations by performing the following duties :
Performs HVAC troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, and repairs on
various types of equipment including split systems, package units, rooftop units, bay
heaters, mini splits, etc.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs ice machines.
- Operates specialized equipment and tools related to the trade discipline.
- May lead the work of maintenance crews at the worksite, ensuring that the work is
performed safely and efficiently.
- Receives work orders, prioritizes, and distributes them according to division procedures.
- Estimates project materials from blueprints and purchases necessary supplies.
- Maintains records of all work performed.
- Works extended hours, as necessary, during shutdowns of equipment and / or buildings.
- May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High School graduate or GED equivalent and four (4) years of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Certification, licensure, or Associate's degree in HVAC preferred. Experience in basic diagnostic and troubleshooting of building automation systems preferred.
Must possess and maintain valid state Driver's License with an acceptable driving history.
Work Location : 5 Interchange Court Work Hours : 7 : 00 am - 3 : 30 pm, Monday - Friday.
