POSITION TITLE : General Manager - Capital Projects

COMPENSATION : Competitive DOE

BENEFITS : Standard package

LOCATION : Houston, Texas

SUMMARY : The General Manager - Capital Projects will lead the operations, overseeing all aspects of capital project execution for refining and petrochemical clients. This role requires a proven leader with strong P&L accountability, project delivery expertise, and client relationship skills.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for Houston’s capital projects portfolio, with full P&L accountability.
  • Develop and implement business strategies to grow capital project presence across Gulf Coast refineries and petrochemical facilities.
  • Oversee project execution from pre-construction through completion, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships with refinery and petrochemical plant owners, EPCs, and strategic partners.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop project managers, superintendents, and support staff to foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with corporate leadership to align operations

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership in capital project execution with in the refining, petrochemical, or industrial services sectors
  • Demonstrated experience managing large capital projects ($25-$50M+), preferably within a contractor or EPC environment
  • Strong knowledge of Gulf Coast refinery and petrochemical clients
  • Proven P&L and operational management experience
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
