Job Description
The Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Engineer will perform thermal, dynamic, structural, and functional modeling of energetic components and systems in support of design and development of aerospace and defense programs.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Develop analytical models to assess the ability of EBAD products to meet functionalrequirements.
- Envision and assess alternate concepts to meet functional requirements
- Supporting project and operations teams by providing expert level assistance
- Support existing products and product upgrades
- Participate in root cause and failure analysis of challenging problems
Requirements :
The successful candidate must have a BS / MS in an engineering discipline and a minimum of 8 years design and / or analysis of aerospace and defense products.Strong background in Finite Element AnalysisDemonstrated experience performing analytical modeling and evaluation of component leveldesignsPerform detailed design analyses and present results to customers in support of design reviewsStrong written, verbal and presentation skills for interaction with various levels of managementStrong follow through and ability to work with Engineers to develop analytical models in support of product development, testing, and failure investigations.Proficient with Microsoft office suite softwareMust be able to read and interpret technical product drawingsDesired Skills :
Extensive experience in ANSYS Workbench environment, particularly with structural, vibration, and dynamics modulesExperience with SolidWorks preferredAdvanced degree in Mechanical Engineering preferredExperience with energetic materials preferredAbility to perform explicit dynamic analyses preferredKnowledge of space vehicle mechanisms and designs is preferred.Compensation :
Salary Range : $130,000 - $180,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
