Capital Project Manager
Work Place Flexibility : Onsite Legal Entity : Entergy Services, LLC This position will be filled in Jackson, MS.
Job Summary / Purpose : Manages the development and delivery of a capital project or program to which he or she is assigned and focuses on the achievement of project cost and schedule objectives while achieving excellence in the areas of project safety and quality. Works directly with Construction Manager to ensure project is delivered with cost and schedule certainty. Manages risks and risk management issues to ensure risks are identified and mitigated. Works directly with Project Controls to ensure alignment with Stage Gate Processes and to ensure that proper project controls are being implemented. Provides direct management and support to Project Team members throughout the project lifecycle. Works closely with contractor representatives to achieve capital project objectives.

Minimum Requirements :
Minimum education required of the position + Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent work experience. + Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum experience required of the position + Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in the utility industry with experience in major capital project planning, execution, and control. + Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position Engaged leader with a history of successfully delivering capital projects / portfolios. Solid understanding of project management fundamentals and stage-gate processes focused on delivering T&D projects with cost, schedule and scope certainty. Experienced in risk and contingency management. Skilled at leading and influencing across organizations, partnering with contract firms, negotiation, obtaining stakeholder input and support, driving continuous improvement ideas, improving organizational health, transforming organizations and improving customer centricity. Able to build, motivate and inspire effective teams and leverage team diversity. Significant ability to build partnerships with internal customers, key stakeholders, and contractors. Skilled at managing conflict, providing clear direction / role clarity and developing employees. Able to build productive relationships across the organization and with external parties. Demonstrated ability to lead teams to effectively achieve desired results and lead in a matrixed environment. Understanding of regulatory environments.

Functional Knowledge : Strong understanding of project management fundamentals and principles. Extensive knowledge of stage-gate processes and the ability to provide scalability as dictated by project scope. Strong understanding of Engineering, Construction and Project Controls enabling safe, effective project execution Broad knowledge of transmission and distribution planning, engineering, operations, maintenance, and construction.
Business Expertise : Strong understanding of, and constructive interaction with, the Power Delivery organization to ensure engineering and operational considerations are incorporated into projects Understanding of regulatory environments and the role projects play in meeting those objectives.
