Job description

Director of Facilities

Sodexo's Corporate Services Division is seeking a Director of Facilities for this premier Life Science Manufacturer in Carlsbad, CA. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in total integrated facilities management, overseeing hard and soft services, landscaping, grounds, predictive and preventive maintenance, and property infrastructure through a skilled trades team. This leader will also be responsible for hiring, training, and supervising staff, while demonstrating strong financial acumen and a strategic approach to facilities performance and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Directs preventative maintenance proactive & reactive repair maintenance issues using skilled trades
  • Directs grounds, landscape, and maintenance operations to ensure a safe and attractive environment
  • Oversees maintenance of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and utility systems supporting labs, manufacturing, property infrastructure cleaning, e.g., building, roofing, parking lot
  • Acts as a liaison between the client and regulatory agencies and / or authorities including building code compliance
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets, driving cost and resource efficiencies, which may include energy savings program.
  • Partner with EHS to uphold safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.
  • Direct vendor relationships and ensure quality service delivery.
  • Advance sustainability programs for energy efficiency and environmental stewardship.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing facilities and maintenance team.
