Your Day-to-Day as a Security Guard

Your Impact

Security Guards shall be responsible for observing and reporting any suspicious activity and providing safety and protection to our employees and customers at our cannabis properties.

What You'll Do (Personnel Duties, Authority, and Responsibilities)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other responsibilities and projects may be assigned for the overall benefit of the organization.

• Observe and report suspicious activity, identify subjects, and provide detailed physical descriptors of any person who may appear to show signs of suspicious behavior. Ability to provide details of any / all incidents that occur through incident reporting documentation.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all security operations, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct detailed sweeps of the building, including the surrounding property, while practicing rigorous attention to detail.
• Provide support for the opening and closing procedures and maintain a clean and hygienic floor.
• Communicate and liaise with law enforcement, fire departments, and other first Responder personnel, if needed.
• Establish and maintain working relationships and provide assistance as requested to managers, supervisors, and employees on an ongoing basis to enhance the security and safety of all employees, contractors, etc.
• Always remain alert and aware of all situations going on in and surrounding the property.
• Monitor property access and public access to the building using a surveillance system in addition to visual surveillance while on foot patrol around the property.
• Engage all people entering and exiting the property with a friendly greeting, treating each with respect, while providing a safe environment and experience.
• Working knowledge of security operations and safety practices, state and local laws and regulations.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee is regularly exposed to strong cannabis odors and is frequently required to handle cannabis products. Exposure to environmental particles such as pollen and plant pathogens, fertilizer, dust, odors, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations water, dry salts, allergens, dust, other volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
