Job Title : Regional Sanitation Manager
FLSA Status : Exempt
Note : This operation runs 24 / 7, and individual schedules are determined by volume and client needs. Weekend availability is required and the facility is only closed three days each year.
Job Purpose :
Utilize sanitation knowledge and leadership skills to guide and support sanitation team members. Ensure the production facility remains clean, organized, and fully sanitized, maintaining food safety and quality standards. Verify and document all tasks according to the Master Sanitation Schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement sanitation procedures to maintain high standards of cleanliness across the facility.
- Train staff on proper sanitation practices and ensure compliance with all applicable food safety regulations.
- Conduct regular facility audits to identify potential contamination risks and implement corrective action plans.
- Manage the selection and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment in compliance with safety and effectiveness standards.
- Collaborate with production management, quality assurance, and regulatory teams to address sanitation-related concerns.
- Provide leadership and direction to sanitation managers across multiple sites, promoting food safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop sanitation procedures aligned with GMP, HACCP, SQF, and FDA regulatory requirements.
- Conduct ATP, pre-operational, and allergen testing as needed.
- Ensure adherence to hygienic zoning, plant sanitation programs, and proper GMP apparel usage.
- Verify sanitation records for completeness and accuracy before submission to the QA team.
- Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness in all production and support areas.
- Participate in identifying and correcting sanitation deficiencies and support process improvement initiatives.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure completion of required chemical training.
- Monitor sanitation performance metrics and documentation compliance.
- Manage and minimize in-house equipment damage costs through employee awareness and accountability.
- Perform additional duties and verifications as assigned per Sanitation SOPs.
Skills and Abilities :
Ability to read and interpret chemical mixing and cleaning procedure manuals.Strong communication and leadership skills across teams and departments.Basic math proficiency, including calculating chemical concentrations and percentages.Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities.Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and early mornings.Bilingual ability is a plus.Education and Experience :
Minimum of 5 years of sanitation experience in a related field.Minimum of 5 years in a leadership or managerial role preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.HACCP, GMP, and SQF certification preferred.Experience within food production and processing environments.Work Environment and Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.Ability to stand, sit, and move throughout a production or warehouse environment for extended periods.Must be able to work in varying temperature conditions.Must be able to safely work around moving equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scissor lifts.ABOUT ACCURATE PERSONNEL
