Food Service Assistant
Position : 2021-LRH-8130-023 Department : Nutrition Services FT / PT Status : Casual (Less than 32 hrs every 2 weeks) Job Responsibilities : Nutrition Services employees at Lake Region Healthcare work in a fun and fast paced environment preparing and serving meals that contribute to the health and well being of our customers.
A typical day may include working as part of a team to prepare and deliver room service meals to patients, serve co-workers and visitors in the cafe, and deliver meals to catered meetings on site.
You will learn about diet orders and make sure patients' meals match their dietary requirements. You will contribute to a food-safe environment by helping with proper food storage, monitoring food temperatures, restocking supplies, and cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen.
Food service assistants have contact with employees, patients and visitors from all walks of life; a smile, the ability to keep confidences, and excellent communication skills are a must.
We provide several days of on-the-job training and plenty of ongoing support as you learn the details of your new job.
Job Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately. Ability to interact with patients, physicians, employees, and guests.
Customer service experience preferred.
Shifts : Up to 31 hours per 2 weeks. Weekdays and some weekends. Mostly 8-hour shifts and some shorter shifts. Shifts begin at 5 : 30am, 6am, 6 : 30am and 11am.
