Working Hours : Monday to Friday, 5 : 30 AM to 3 : 30 PM, 1 hour lunch
Job Summary / Objective of Job
The Transmission Rebuilder is a key member of the Transmission Department, responsible for the complete and precise assembly of Transmission components in accordance with quality standards and production timelines. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of differential models, including their unique specifications and performance requirements.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Learn and master the functional stations within the Transmission Production Line, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the full assembly process.
- Stations include :
- Back-Half – Verify and double-check parts for fully assembled auxiliary components and complete an air leak check upon completion.
- Gear Prep – Inspect parts, assemble smaller components, and conduct final checks of internal transmission elements.
- Case Prep – Inspect cast iron components for defects or imperfections and assemble the main transmission case.
- Final Rebuild – Assemble all major components, operate the transmission to ensure it meets quality standards as outlined in SOPs, inspect for air leaks, and prepare units for Dyno testing.
- Accurately identify and differentiate transmission models.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet or exceed daily production targets.
- Cross-train in alternate areas of the production line and provide support in other workstations as needed.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED EquivalentPrevious mechanical experience or training, preferably in automotive or heavy-duty equipment repair or assembly.Ability to use hand tools as required for assembly and repaid tasks.Strong understanding of differential systems and components.Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and service manuals.Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to lift 50lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the day.Performance Metrics
