Associate General Counsel

Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., a national, privately-held, stable, and growing retailer headquartered in Oklahoma City is seeking a qualified attorney with at least three years of experience for the position of Associate General Counsel.

The Associate General Counsel is an in-person position in Oklahoma City, and provides general legal representation and counsel to Hobby Lobby management, business personnel, and affiliate companies in multiple areas of law, including commercial transactions, intellectual property, and regulatory matters.

• The Associate General Counsel position will not require any litigation, but litigation experience is a plus. The ideal candidate will possess the following : Superior analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, legal writing, and negotiation skills;
• The ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with management, business personnel, opposing counsel, and regulators;
• A positive attitude, initiative, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently;

Good legal research skills; and Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Lexis. The Associate General Counsel position is challenging, but distinguishable from law firm positions in that it does not require billable hours or client development.
