Join to apply for the Control Design Engineer role at Cyient
Responsibilities
Electrical engineer with 6-10 years of experience on electrical cabinet design
Electrical design engineers working on power transformers develop detailed electrical designs and calculations to optimize transformer performance
Define parameters related to losses, impedances, noise, short circuit forces, temperature limits, and loading capability
Coordinate with manufacturing, sales, and testing teams for specification compliance
Work with Auto CAD, ETAP and other tools
Control Cabinet Design : design main control cabinets that house monitoring, protection, and control devices including electronic temperature monitors, tap changer controllers, cooling control units, and communication interfaces
Device Integration : integrate transformer monitoring devices and communication protocols such as DNP3, Modbus, and IEC 61850 to enable secure, accurate, and real-time data flow to SCADA systems
Protection & Monitoring : develop solutions for transformer protection including overcurrent, overload, temperature, dissolved gas analysis monitoring, and fault detection systems
Communication Systems : ensure reliable data transmission and interoperability between the transformer's control system and utility management systems
Customization and Specification : tailor control systems to customer and utility specifications, including compliance with relevant standards (IEEE, IEC, ANSI), and adapting to diverse transformer types and application environments
