Overview

Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Fellow Engineer to support ongoing operations in Aiken, SC. This position plays a vital role in advancing critical mission objectives in a highly regulated, technically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

DUTIES

Apply technical experience in the field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields, and use other technical resources within the company, to resolve complex problems.

• Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features, such as complex technical requirements, the application of new or specialized materials or processes, and difficult coordination or oversight requirements, into problem-solving and program planning.
• Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise.
• Develop solutions to complex technical problems in fields of expertise.
• Keep informed about technical needs within the company and technical trends in the company's area of expertise.
• Be aware of the work group's capabilities and its customers' needs. Identify technical programs that can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them.
• Lead task teams for developing solutions to more complex problems. Prepare plans - including schedules, budgets, and personnel requirements-to address major technical tasks identified by management.
• Develop schedules, monitor progress, monitor budget expenditures, and review the quality of work performed. Include research, development, testing, and quality assurance requirements.
• Communicate the results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues, managers, and oversight groups.
• Prepare reports for external publication.

Work Hours :

A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules, including

5 / 8s (8 hour / day; five days per week), 4 / 10's (10 hours / day; four days per week), and 9 / 80's (9

hours / day, five days a week, AA, and four days a week, BB. Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has a 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Design Authority Manager.

Area Security Access :

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. An

active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected

candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.
