Minimum qualifications :

  • JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state in which the position is located.
  • 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
  • 7 years of experience with legal, regulatory, or corporate compliance, including addressing, minimizing, and avoiding regulatory risk.

Preferred qualifications :

  • Experience in engaging with regulators, including State attorneys general, Federal Trade Commission, Department of Justice, and global digital media, content, or consumer protection authorities.
  • Experience with laws / regulations governing content moderation, secondary / intermediary liability, notice-and-takedown procedures, consumer protection, or related areas of law.
  • Experience advising on laws / regulations governing AI models and systems, like the EU AI Act, US state legislation, executive orders, and related global legislation.

    As Regulatory Counsel, Content and AI, you will join a global team that provides subject matter expertise and engages with regulators, academics, and others to consider the role of Content and AI law in the changing economy, the development of new technology such as Artificial Intelligence, and passage of new laws and regulations.

    The role involves interpreting laws, regulatory engagement, advising product areas on new regulatory requirements, partnering with a variety of internal stakeholders across the company to advise on compliance solutions and mitigate risk, and helping communicate our compliance externally.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $239,000-$337,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

    Responsibilities :

  • Interpret laws and other compliance obligations into requirements for Compliance, Business, Product, and Engineering teams.
  • Provide legal advice on compliance programs and policies to help mitigate risk.
  • Manage government and regulator discussions, negotiations, and disclosures on compliance readiness efforts.
