Medical Assistant Position

Upstate Community Medical, P.C. at Upstate University Hospital Community Campus is looking for energetic Medical Assistants to join our growing outpatient OB / GYN team. The Medical Assistant performs clinical and clerical support activities to deliver quality patient care. Please note this is not a NY State position; the employer is Upstate Community Medical, P.C.

Responsibilities :

• Triages patient by taking vital signs, such as height, weight, and blood pressure
• Prepares patient charts for providers
• Creates and maintains electronic patient records
• Verifies insurance coverage and obtains necessary authorizations for services
• Coordinates and maintains patient schedules
• Prepares exam rooms for patients during their visit
• Maintains exam room supplies and prepares for minor procedure
• Assists with surgical scheduling as needed
• Other duties as assigned
