Sr. Accountant
This position will be a member of the WhiteWater accounting department in Austin. Responsibilities include preparation of accounting transactions which include cost allocation, monthly revenue, fixed assets, debt, and derivatives. Position will assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years relevant work experience
- Ideal candidate will have public accounting or industry experience in construction or energy
- Strong analytical and research skills and ability to produce results under deadlines
- Experience with fixed asset accounting
- Ability to apply strong attention to detail and multi-task
- Experienced in accounting and reporting for multiple joint venture projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
Manage the fixed asset and WIP subledgers including running and verifying depreciationSetup, monitor and account for reimbursable construction projectsDevelop and manage capital accrual processHelp develop and monitor the accounting for asset retirement obligationsTrack asset capitalization and coordinate with fixed asset accounting for timely capitalization of completed projects.Review and process construction invoices, change orders, retainage, and progress billings.Develop and review monthly capital reporting schedulesWork closely with operations and engineering to properly capture changes to contracts and underlying asset / construction plansMaintain and reconcile right of way lease and land purchases monthlyAssist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as needed.Perform and review accounting reconciliation and on a timely basisManage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheetReview monthly balance sheet reconciliations and perform initial review of G / LAssist with technical accounting memorandumsAssist with special projects when they arise and are assignedEducation
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business AdministrationCPA or CPA eligible preferredThis position is located in Austin, Texas and is an in-office position.
