Essential Functions and Primary Duties
- Achieve organizational objectives through the coordinated achievements of subordinate staff
- Assumes accountability for decisions made by subordinate staff
- May spend a portion of time performing individual tasks related to the unit, however, supervisory activities constitutes a primary part of the job
- Provide major input into hiring decisions
- Provide major input into rewarding and disciplinary actions
- Execute annual goals and priorities
- Supervise staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives
- Influence the direction for new or revised services, programs, processes, standards, or operation plans
- Analyze and resolve problems, interpret policies and demonstrate solid subject matter knowledge
- Exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to subordinate staff
- Listen and resolve grievances
- Additional responsibilities as assigned

Bachelors degreeMinimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED requiredOver 8 years experience in area of expertise with increasing complexityAt least 6 years experience managing and leading staffMust maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertiseDemonstrate industry experience, product knowledge, proposal process, underwriting, regulatory trends, and presentations skillsProficient use of applicable technologyDemonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externallyExpert knowledge of state and federal legislation and regulations impacting disciplineExpertise in managing clientsAdvanced problem solving and critical thinking skillsThe annual salary target for this job in this market is $125,000-$145,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position. The compensation above is not representative of an employees total compensation.
