Manufacturing Engineering Technician
Milwaukee, WI | Direct-Hire | $75,000-$90,000 | Onsite
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to develop, optimize, and maintain efficient production methods for custom electromagnetic and transformer components. This position plays a key role in bridging design and manufacturing-ensuring new products are launched effectively, production processes are documented and controlled, and quality and safety standards are consistently upheld.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in process improvement, tooling, and electrical testing within a manufacturing environment, and enjoys collaborating with design engineering, operations, and quality to deliver durable, high-performance products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed manufacturing process documentation, including work instructions and ECOs, ensuring traceability and compliance with internal standards.
- Collaborate with design engineering to define production requirements and support the seamless transition of new product introductions into manufacturing.
- Create and implement electrical testing protocols, providing training and support to ensure safe and accurate product verification.
- Identify and implement process and tooling improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce cost, and improve workplace safety.
- Conduct root cause analysis and lead corrective action activities for customer returns (RMA), ensuring effective problem resolution.
- Manage preventive maintenance schedules and calibration programs for production and test equipment.
- Partner with quality assurance to perform first article inspections and support documentation of initial production runs.
- Evaluate manufacturing methods and propose process optimizations to meet production cost and lead-time goals.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, equipment upgrades, and layout modifications to improve workflow and throughput.
- Support miscellaneous engineering and manufacturing projects assigned by leadership or customers.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.5+ years of experience working with electromagnetic products as an Engineering Technician.Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production flow, and process documentation.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.U.S. work authorization required.Preferred Qualifications
3-5 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience, ideally in electrical or electromechanical component production.Proficiency with CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical, or similar).Experience developing or automating electrical testing procedures.Familiarity with coil winding, magnetic assembly, or transformer production.Exposure to PFMEA, 8D reporting, or other structured problem-solving tools.Practical experience with fabrication, machining, or maintenance of production equipment.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and data-driven process tracking.Benefits & Compensation
