Ochsner Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist who is board certified in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care to serve as Medical Director of Pediatric CVICU at Ochsner Hospital for Children in New Orleans, Louisiana .

Responsibilities will include leadership, development, and oversight of the physicians in this state-of-the-art 12-bed CVICU with teaching responsibilities for pediatric residents, medical students, and allied health students.

The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment commensurate with experience.

The Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Ochsner Hospital for Children is a state of the art 12-bed inpatient unit that provides cardiac critical care to pediatric patients from birth to adulthood.

In this dedicated unit, a team of pediatric cardiac intensive care physicians work closely with a specialized team to provide around the clock care for our patients with both congenital and acquired heart disease.

Our comprehensive Pediatrics Program including primary care pediatricians and pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists (Ochsner Children's) represents over 230 physicians.

The group is the region's leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.

We offer a full range of pediatric complex specialty services including congenital heart surgery and cardiac transplantation, liver and bone marrow transplantation, a comprehensive surgical sub-specialty group, and the region's only comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental center.

We recently announced the building of a new separate, comprehensive, dedicated Children's Hospital on our main campus, with expected opening in 2027.

We currently care for patients in an expanding 67-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric CV-ICU, and a 44-bed pediatric acute unit, with a dedicated pediatric emergency room, and full-time, region-wide in-house pediatric and neonatal transport teams.

In addition to patient care, Ochsner Children's Hospital has an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program and is responsible for teaching pediatric residents from the Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric Residency program as well as medical students from both Tulane and the University of Queensland.

Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana recently announced an agreement to establish a joint College of Medicine.

and the Boh Center for Child Development, a dedicated multidisciplinary developmental pediatrics center.
