The opportunity

The Director, Employee Accommodation Support Center provides strategic leadership for a newly established center dedicated to advancing workplace accessibility, inclusion, and belonging. You will oversee the university's reasonable accommodation processes and lead the development of people-centered strategies that enhance the employee experience ensuring full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), and all applicable state and federal regulations. You will report to the Assistant Vice President of Health and Wellness Benefits.

Serving as the People Team's subject matter expert on ADA and workplace accommodations, the Director shapes policy, provides expert consultation, and builds organizational capability through education, resources, and proactive support. This role leads a small team and is instrumental in championing a culture that puts people first by removing barriers, fostering equity, and creating an environment where all employees can fully contribute and thrive. This role is remote. #LI-remote

What you'll do :

Develop, implement, and maintain accessibility policies and procedures that comply with federal and state laws, like the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 Pregnancy Worker's Fairness Act (PWFA), and other relevant state and federal laws for employees at SNHU and is focused around supporting an inclusive work culture.

Lead a team that serves as the primary resource for employees looking for information about disability-related accommodations and services. Help facilitate the intersection of ADA and state and federal leave of absence law.

Oversee the entire reasonable accommodation process for all employees and candidates at SNHU, including the process, documentation, tracking and technology, ensuring the employee experience is at the center of the work. Ensure that accommodation can be tracked through the employee lifecycle.

Facilitate the interactive process and make determinations about reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities, collaborating with HR, managers, and employees.

Ensure clear and transparent information is available to help facilitate and educate employees on reasonable accommodation and to ensure employees know how they can seek support.

Provide training to managers, employees, and other partners on the reasonable accommodation process and other related accommodation topics. Will also assist with communication and awareness campaigns and training related to employee accessibility and the importance of providing reasonable accommodations to support an inclusive culture.

Work with multiple partners at the university, including the HR leadership team, the HR Business Partner Team, other members of the People team, the Office of General Counsel and Compliance, the University's ADA Administrator, the Digital Accessibility Team / Office of Diversity and Equity, other University partners and employees.

Collect and analyze accommodation data, using data-driven insights to assess program effectiveness to identify areas of opportunity and creative solutions.

Ensure there are tools in place to measure employee satisfaction with the process and adjust based on feedback.

Lead accessibility efforts for employees.

Stay up to date with current laws, regulations, trends and best practices to ensure our practices are the most current and meet the university's needs.

Facilitate third-party vendor relationships and service agreements and needs.

Help with employee religious accommodations.

Lead a small team and will be engaged in both the operational and day-to- day work, and the strategic work for this team.

Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential functions of this role.

What we're looking for :

Years of experience : Seven years of HR experience supporting employees with reasonable accommodation and leaves of absence with three years managing a team overseeing these processes.

Degree(s) Bachelor's degree

Equivalent of experience in lieu of degree acceptable : Yes

Knowledge in employee benefits administration and employee relations, including general HR practices, local, state and federal ADA and leave laws and collaborative work dynamics in a complex organization that is shaping change.

Compensation

The annual pay range for this position is $77,794.00 - $124,491.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $85,961.00 - $116,299.00.
