Overview
The User Experience Designer applies a passion for developing innovative shopping experiences to the next generation of web & mobile at Omaha Steaks.
The ideal candidate is a problem solver, quick study, self-starter, and excellent communicator with a strong usability background.
Successful candidates for this role will possess a blend of skills and experience that include ecommerce design, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, usability analysis, and product development.
In sum, we are looking for a team member ready to build shopping experiences that customers love!
Essential job duties include :
- Create user workflows, wireframes and mockups, and contribute to fast prototyping practices. These efforts produce the assets provided to our development partners.
- Write acceptance criteria, perform UAT on new features to ensure accurate execution of our UI, analytics, testing, personalization, tagging and reporting platforms.
- Assist user research efforts and usability testing efforts in collaboration with stakeholders and the business priorities.
In doing so, identify gaps or defects in current functionality.
Develop expert knowledge of industry, competitive, and complementary products.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities :
- 4 year college degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Computer Science, Business or Related.
- 5 years’ experience in product development environment;
- 5 years’ experience in information architecture, interaction design, usability and prototyping;
- 5 years’ experience in retail and ecommerce functionality highly preferred.
- Big picture UX and product design thinking with strong UI and visual skills.
- Expert knowledge of HTML(5) and CSS(3) with JS experience.
- Advanced understanding of one or more design tools including Adobe Creative Suite.
- Advanced capability in crafting deliverables in Creative Suite, HTML, CSS, Figma or equivalent prototyping tool.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical ability
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate with senior management.
- Strong collaboration, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to facilitate efficient and productive meetings; strong presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously while keeping management appropriately informed.
- Excellent organizational / time-management skills.
