Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Leader, the Staff Pharmacist dispenses medicines and preparations according to prescriptions and/or medication orders written by physicians, dentists, and other practitioners authorized by law, and being a member of the hospital's medical staff. Staff Pharmacists furnish information concerning medications and perform related duties. The duties, of this position, serve the patient population of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups. Staff Pharmacists perform all functions in an ethical professional manner. Staff Pharmacists work all shifts.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy; either licensed or preparing to be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia in a timely manner.
Experience: Six (6) months of hospital experience strongly preferred.
