ALTA IT has a Direct Hire Position open for a Systems Engineer located in Warrenton, VA.
Clearance : TS / SCI
Location : 100% Onsite, Warrenton, VA
Responsibilities & Duties include, but are not limited to :
- Manage and maintain an IT enterprise-centered data storage environment for Virtual Machine environments (Nutanix or VMware) hosting MS Windows servers and Linux environments.
- Develop and implement high performance storage solutions for enterprise capabilities in compliance with DISA STIG requirements and data retention policies.
- Maintain all physical back-end storage services, and team resources assignments.
- Identify and diagnose complex performance, security, and technical issues.
Here's What You'll Need :
- Must have active Top Secret clearance with SCI or the ability to acquire Top Secret / SCI
- Must possess well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Current DODD 8140 / 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) required (such as CCNA Security, Security+ CE, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP)
- Experience leading small teams of 2-3 IT technical staff and supporting integrated project teams
- Experience with system engineering documentation creation (operational & service views, network diagrams, data flows, etc.
and developing IT checklists, SOPs, guides, etc.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Minimum Experience :
- At least 10 years of IT experience inclusive of the following minimum specific experience :
- 5 years of experience in managing data storage for Virtual Machine environments (Nutanix or VMware) hosting MS Windows servers and Linux environments
- 2 years of experience in system administration and storage design applying Commvault 11.x software for data storage backup
- 2 years of experience as system administrator for HPE data storage products (3PAR and Primera), StoreOnce, and tape back-up systems
- Experience solutioning high performance storage designs for enterprise SANs employing Fiber Channel network fabric and hybrid-cloud environments
- Commvault Professional Foundations Exam
Preferred Qualifications :
- Certified Commvault Professional Advanced (or ability to obtain with 6 months of hire)
