Senior Manager - Aftermarket Field Sales

Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Senior Manager - Aftermarket Field Sales. This is a remote work opportunity within the US. Candidates can be based from a home office and / or based at our Southfield, MI facility. Preference will be given to candidates local to the Southfield MI area.

The Senior Manager-Aftermarket Field Sales will manage all the field sales strategies, market initiatives, and new business development activities for the commercial vehicle aftermarket business with the goal of achieving annual sales targets and growth objectives by product line and distribution channel.

This position is responsible for the sales leadership and the strategic management of all field sales resources within the US and Canada. The manager has ownership for defining strategy, implementing sales initiatives and driving programs execution with key stakeholders (customers, distributors, partners, and the field sales team employees). The Senior Sales Manager will develop an annual strategic growth plan for the team and drive execution, collaboration and sharing across the field sales team and the entire Eaton organization.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $123750.0 - $181500.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a sales incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You'll Do :

Act as the lead sales manager responsible for developing and implementing the strategy required to maintain and grow the current book of business and to ensure top-line aftermarket sales objectives are met. Keep current on market trends and channel issues. Leverage market intelligence to develop and execute strategies, sales initiatives and marketing programs that will drive sales growth for all assigned product lines. Ensure the sales team maintains effective relationships with all customers across all channels and markets. Must collaborate effectively with all customers and channel partners while maintaining relationships with the key decision makers.

  • Execute monthly analysis of product line performance against financial goals and provide guidance to field sales team with recommended corrective actions (by region, territory, lines of product, or individual customer) with pre-defined targets and goals.
  • Participates and provide direction for the strategic planning process and monthly forecasts process. Responsible for the accuracy of data and takes actions to ensure sales team meets the forecast numbers on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Maintain budgetary responsibility for the responsible cost center. Monitors and manages sales team expenditures to ensure effective allocation of company resources and assets.
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure professional growth for employees and retention.
  • Closely coordinate with product management and marketing team to ensure strategies are represented and aligned with sales efforts. Support and facilitate information to maximize the efficiency of product marketing and training programs.
  • Advise senior management of customer and competitive developments that may have an impact on sales growth and profitability and recommend strategies and decision options to counteract market pressures.
  • Participate in industry events to represent and promote Eaton value proposition across the responsible product lines.

Qualifications :

Required Basic Qualifications :

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum five (5) years sales leadership experience
  • Minimum five (5) years experience working for an automotive manufacturing company in an aftermarket role and / or an automotive distribution company

  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Engineering
  • MBA
  • Sales team management experience in the Commercial Vehicle Service industry or automotive aftermarket industry
  • Skills :

  • Strong business acumen. Capable to evaluate business opportunities, create business cases, and take calculated risk in order to achieve breakthrough results.
  • Solid financial acumen and understanding of financial analysis (price, revenue, profitability, cost).
  • Understanding and demonstrated ability to evaluate competitors' strategies, technologies, and capabilities and create strategies to drive growth.
  • Ability to analyze market intel and understand the impact to Eaton product portfolio.
  • Ability to develop, manage and measure sales incentive programs.
  • Champions innovative ideas and takes action to seize competitive advantage.
  • Proven interpersonal communication / influencing skills. Encourages communication and information flow across boundaries.
  • Promotes open discussion of ideas; provides others with unrestricted access to information. Listens willingly to input and concerns expressed by others.
  • Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders in the industry and within the organization. Foster alignment and cooperation across functions.
  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Power Point and Excel
