Symetra has an exciting new opportunity to join us as an Accounting Associate - Withholding Tax !

About the role

As an Accounting Associate - Withholding Tax , you will support the Symetra Tax team by performing key accounting tasks focused on withholding tax and information reporting compliance for our individual life, retirement, and group life & disability products. This role will also contribute to projects across the finance department.

What you will do

• Prepare ad-hoc journal entries and provide other basic accounting related support to ensure withholding compliance for Symetra's Individual Life, Retirement, and Workforce Benefits products
• Prepare monthly state withholding reconciliations and accounting journal entries as needed to support state withholding return filings and financial reporting compliance.
• Prepare monthly variance reports comparing withholding tax balances between ledger and information reporting software (Thomson Reuters Onesource)
• Assist with special projects and research to support department initiatives
• Maintain process and procedure documentation to support maintenance of department function.

Compensation

Salary Range : $26.30 - $43.87 / hourly plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.
