Additional Information About the Role BJC HealthCare is looking for a Business Manager to offer strategic leadership and consultation to the BJC Pharmacy. This role involves overseeing the creation, maintenance, and monitoring of the pharmacy budget, as well as managing financial results. Must be located in the greater St. Louis area. Overview Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. The pharmacy at Barnes-Jewish uses an integrated practice model with more unit-based positions. Here, department staff has access to a number of drug information resources, including many online references accessible from department computers. An on-site drug information center provides support for more in-depth questions. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides strategic leadership and consultation in operational and financial analysis for a clinical department(s) of a significant size and operating budget. Builds collaborative teams that strive for continuous improvement and business results that meet/exceed every customer's expectation. Responsibilities Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. Analyzes large amounts of data and provides in-depth analysis needed to support services within the business operations to meet operational and strategic goals. Identifies and initiates cost reduction strategies. Directs and manages the operating and capital budgeting processes for the department, including the monitoring of actual costs against these budgets. Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
