Associate Director, Healthcare Pricing, DentaQuest
Join us as the Associate Director of Healthcare Pricing at DentaQuest , a leading provider of dental and vision benefits for over 33 million Americans. In this hybrid role, you will lead pricing strategy across multiple business segments, ensuring target loss ratios are met while supporting new product and market initiatives.
Brief Overview
Under the guidance of senior leadership, you will manage the pricing methodology for current and new business, work cross‑functionally with underwriting, actuarial, product, and IT teams, and coordinate regulatory and audit requirements. Your expertise will drive successful implementation of pricing models that align with business goals and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set pricing for current and new business to achieve target loss ratios and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with business units and core operational areas to provide financial risk analysis, underwriting services, and regulatory support.
- Lead key initiatives by working with business owners, users, and IT operations to meet business requirements.
- Support RFP / RFI activities for existing clients and prospects.
- Manage regulatory relationships with insurance regulators and internal / external auditors.
- Develop and deliver training materials and SOPs for departmental staff.
- Coach, mentor, and evaluate the performance of direct reports, ensuring high service quality and regulatory compliance.
- Provide pricing expertise for new marketing, clinical, and product initiatives.
- Collaborate with product teams to design, price, and implement new products.
- Coordinate and communicate departmental projects with staff, directors, and executives.
- Participate in ad‑hoc task forces and corporate projects.
- Support strategic initiatives set by senior leadership to meet business objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
BA / BS degree.10 years of industry experience, with at least 5 years in large‑group underwriting.Proficient in Microsoft Windows tools (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) and automated underwriting systems.Comprehensive knowledge of health insurance products, operations, risk assessment, and financial metrics.5+ years of management experience, including hiring, leading, and developing staff.Strong problem‑solving, conflict resolution, planning, and organizational skills.Excellent sales, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.Ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities.Proven ability to teach, coach, mentor, and lead change.In‑depth knowledge of underwriting policies and procedures.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Commitment to ongoing training and development.Salary
Competitive salary range : $108,900 – $163,400. Eligible for discretionary annual incentive awards based on performance.
