Position Summary

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients / families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

Essential Functions

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Schedule :

Full Time : 40 or 36 hours per week with variable shifts to provide coverage from the hours of 5 : 30am-12 : 05am.Nurses will be on 10 or 12 hour shifts with a variable day off during the week.

Shift start times will also vary throughout the week (5 : 30a, 9 : 00a, 10 : 00a, 12 : 00p and 3 : 35p).

On-call requirements : Per six week schedule, each RN must be scheduled for one weeknight and one weekend call.

University Hospitals is offering a $6,000 sign on bonus, minus applicable taxes, for designated regular full-time RN positions to experienced RN’s (1 year or more) hired externally.

The bonus will be paid out in 2 installments, after 90 days of employment and after 1 year of employment.

Other Accredited Program Diploma in Nursing or

ADN) Associate’s Degree in Nursing Required

BSN) Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Preferred

MSN) Master’s Degree in Nursing Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of nursing process and practice. Required
• Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Ohio Required and
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on clinical area standards.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on clinical area standards.
