A day in this role

You arrive to a clean, organized cell and pull the day’s travelers. A manifold print with GD&T features catches your eye. You load jaws and tooling, set work offsets on a Haas VMC, verify the program at the control, and take a careful first cut. Micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges confirm you’re holding ±0.0005 on a critical bore. A second job moves to a Mazak lathe where you machine NPT and BSPP ports to spec. Throughout the day you fine‑tune offsets, troubleshoot chips and chatter, and keep the machines production‑ready and safe.

What you’ll do

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills (Fanuc / Haas) to produce manifolds, fittings, and valve bodies
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and job travelers to plan efficient setups
• Machine hydraulic ports and threads to NPT, BSPP, SAE, and ISO standards
• Consistently hold tight tolerances up to ±0.0005 on critical features
• Perform first article and in‑process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges
• Adjust tooling and work offsets, troubleshoot quality issues, and maintain part conformity
• Maintain a clean, safe workstation and keep equipment production‑ready
