WEEKLY HOURS - .5 COURSE CREDIT : No more than 10 hours per week. No more than 6 hours per day, plus complete a self-reflection project and present it during the last week of the internship. Currently a 1 - 2 semester limit.

HOURLY PAY : $15 / hr stipend (No taxes withheld)

WHEN WORK HAPPENS : Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 3 : 00 PM unless instructed differently by your SEL Teacher / Advisor / Mentor Contact Name above.

The High School Intern will support the daily operations of the organization while gaining hands-on experience in a professional setting. Under the supervision of staff, the intern will assist with a variety of tasks such as organizing materials, providing customer service, completing data entry, shadowing employees, and contributing to projects as needed. This position is designed to help students build workplace skills, including communication, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities may include :

  • Assisting with clerical or organizational tasks
  • Supporting staff with projects or events
  • Greeting and assisting customers, clients, or visitors
  • Completing data entry or basic computer work
  • Participating in team meetings and learning workplace procedures
  • Maintaining a professional attitude and demonstrating reliability

  • Please speak to your SEL Teacher / Advisor / Mentor regarding working and physical conditions at your intern site. You will also be required to sign and upload a W9 and Parental Permission form. In addition, you will be required to electronically acknowledge Non-Disclosure and Internship agreements.

    As part of your application, you will be expected to fill out your emergency contact information, school, and other personal information as required by Albuquerque Public Schools Work-Based Learning programs and the New Mexico Public Education Department. Failure to do so or omission, or erroneous information will result in your application being rejected.
