We are seeking an Accounting Manager, Managed Care Finance to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). About the Role :
The Accounting Manager, Managed Care Finance, plays a critical role in overseeing the financial operations related to managed care contracts within a health care services organization. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective management of revenue and expenses associated with managed care agreements. The role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including finance, operations, and clinical departments to analyze financial data and support strategic decision-making. The Accounting Manager will lead a team to maintain robust internal controls and optimize financial processes to enhance organizational performance. Ultimately, this position ensures the financial integrity and sustainability of managed care programs, contributing to the overall success of the health care organization.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in managed care finance or health care accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and health care financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience managing a team and leading accounting functions.
- Relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications :
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPA or CMA certification.Experience with managed care contracts and health care reimbursement methodologies.Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.Advanced data analysis skills and experience with financial modeling.Previous experience working in a large health care organization or health plan.Responsibilities :
Manage and oversee the accounting activities related to managed care contracts, including revenue recognition, billing, and reconciliation.Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards specific to health care finance.Collaborate with managed care contracting, finance, and operational teams to analyze contract terms and financial impacts.Lead month-end and year-end close processes for managed care finance accounts, including journal entries and account reconciliations.Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance with organizational policies. Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff to enhance team performance and professional growth.
