Role and Responsibilities

• Skilled Linux Administrator / Engineer to manage, optimize, and secure our enterprise Linux environments across cloud and on-prem infrastructures.
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or SUSE) in physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, sudo policies, and system security compliance.
• Monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and implement tuning measures for high availability and reliability.
• Apply patches, upgrades, and perform regular maintenance using automation tools like Ansible, Chef, or Shell / Bash scripts.
• Configure and maintain web / application servers (Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, Nginx).
• Implement and support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to integrate systems with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
• Automate repetitive tasks and configuration management using Bash, Python, or Ansible.
• Manage networking aspects such as DNS, NTP, routing, and firewall rules.
• Implement and monitor logging and alerting systems (e.g., Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for production issues.
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, operational procedures, and runbooks.
