Senior Electrical Engineer

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to expand our MEP practice in San Diego, CA!

Responsibilities

Lead the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for healthcare / hospital, renewable generation, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, transportation, aviation, and industrial projects.

Responsible for the review and development of design documents and reports, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics and block diagrams, electrical system calculations, and one-line diagrams.

Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams, with interaction across Kimley-Horn offices.

Prepare project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and proposals, supporting the growth of electrical engineering service areas in the local market and across the country.

Leadership responsibilities include :

• Growing and leading an Electrical practice

Our Project Managers / Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor.

The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.

Qualifications

15+ years of relevant experience managing MEP projects; specializing in healthcare / hospital projects.

Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.

Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, IEEE and ANSI Standards.

Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization.

Ability to manage and mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner.

Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably.

Base Salary Range : $165,000 - $210,000

Eligible for performance-based bonus compensation.
