Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Firefighter / AEMT or Paramedic to join our team. This role is essential in providing emergency medical services and fire suppression to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. - Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls for fire suppression, rescue operations, and medical emergencies.
- Provide advanced life support and basic life support as required, including administering CPR and first aid.
- Assess patients' conditions, monitor vital signs, and implement appropriate treatment protocols.
- Operate fire apparatus and equipment safely and efficiently during emergency responses.
- Participate in training exercises, drills, and continuing education to maintain skills and certifications.
- Conduct inspections of fire equipment and apparatus to ensure readiness for emergencies.
- Experience
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required. Preferred is a college education within a degree program with a minimum of 60 credits accumulated as an educational base.
- A minimum of a current, Vermont Firefighter I or Pro-Board certified equivalent. Firefighter II must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
- A minimum of a Nationally Registered or Vermont EMT license. Advanced-EMT license is required within 12 months.
- Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Must have a current Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT) card or currently employed with a department that required one for employment.
- Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal orders and instruction.
- Ability to act in a professional manner in both emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Physical capacity to perform the duties required by the position as indicated by tests and / or physical examination upon hiring and recertified per the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. Yearly medical physicals as required by OSHA to meet 29CFR, 1910.134.
- Successfully complete a pre-employment medical / physical screening.

Pay : $24.21 - $30.17 per hour
Expected hours : 24 – 48 per week
