Key Responsibilities :

  • Welcome customers with warmth and respect, ensuring a positive experience for all.
  • Accurately collect specimens in a timely manner in adherence to established protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, explaining the venipuncture process clearly while alleviating their concerns.
  • Follow strict disposal procedures for biohazard materials and contaminated sharps.
  • Ensure all requisitions are completed with precision and maintain accurate patient and billing information in the computer system.
  • Stay organized and efficient while researching necessary test and client information using the laboratory system.
  • Match requisition forms with specimen tubes, properly label and process specimens as per testing requirements.
  • Package and store specimens optimally for transport, maintaining their integrity.
  • Keep thorough records and maintain daily logs for all phlebotomy activities.
  • Assist in compiling monthly statistics and data accurately.
  • Perform basic clerical tasks as needed, including filing and data entry.
  • Manage time effectively, adapting to varying patient flow throughout the day.
  • Uphold professionalism by maintaining appearance according to departmental and company standards.
  • Support a positive team environment, communicating effectively with colleagues and contributing to a collaborative work atmosphere.
  • Answer calls in a professional and friendly manner, providing assistance as needed.
  • Ensure workplace safety through proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and compliance with laboratory safety protocols.
  • Commit to upholding industry security practices and regulatory guidelines to protect sensitive health information.
