Job Description

The Cardiac Catheterization Technologist operates sophisticated equipment and provides patient care during catheterization procedures. This role involves assisting the physician in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, interpreting hemodynamic waveforms, and operating various electrophysiology and imaging equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations.
  • Perform and interpret hemodynamic waveforms and electrocardiographic tracings.
  • Operate and maintain fluorographic, digital imaging, laser, and electrophysiology equipment.
  • Develop, monitor, and implement quality control policies and procedures.
  • Train staff cardiac technologists, fellows, and nursing staff on equipment functionality and safety procedures.
  • Maintain inventory control systems and keep accurate computer records.

    • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • 3 years of experience as a cardiac catheterization or interventional radiology technologist.
  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Studies or a Non-Degree Program from an Approved Cardiovascular Technology Program, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
