2+ years MRI Tech experiencePA Radiation License in hand required to submitExperience w / Siemens MRI systemsIV Start, Inpatient, OutpatientCritical Care ARRT MRI - will accept AMRITBLSThe MRI Technologist uses magnetic resonance imaging scanners and related equipment to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Performs MRI examinations of the brain, body, spine and extremities on patients of all ages effectively adjusting scanning parameters for different patient body habitus. Selects and modifies technical factors to enhance images; uses flare and SAT imaging techniquesDetermines appropriate equipment for scanning up to but not limited to body coilsMust be able to closely follow a physician’s instructions, prepares and operates MRI equipment, position patients correctly and effectively record the requested diagnostic imagesIdentifies gross pathology in the human body and adjusts T1 and T2 scanning parameters to provide pertinent information for interpretation.Performs Diffusion studies, MR Angiograms, reformats and MIP imagingUses magnetic resonance and adjusts parameters to minimize exposure to patient and selfFollows established protocols and uses scanning techniques to include, window and contrast levels, scanning time sequences, scanning delays, scanning thickness, FOV, scout images, reformatting, images reconstruct and 3-D image reconstruct.Photographs, archives and retrieves imagesPerforms quality control for procedures and equipment. Documents systems failures and variances in the appropriate logbook and arranges for service when necessaryCertified to start and remove IV lines for contrast studies per established departmental policy and procedure. Identifies and responds to IV contrast reactions up to and including calling emergency personnelProficient in the use of an IV Contrast Power InjectorIdentifies each patient, reviews each patient’s requisition and previous studies for consistency(examination ordered / clinical diagnosis), and records pertinent data on MRI requisition at all timesResponsible for performing comprehensive screening of patients and other individuals before allowing them to enter the MR system roomReviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedureIdentifies anatomical orientation on all required images and ensures proper film identification on all imagesAdheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedThe MRI Technologist uses magnetic resonance imaging scanners and related equipment to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis.
Minimum Requirements :
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in the radiology fieldRegistered with the ARRT; if required by state regulations or contract specification.One (1) one year of experience in related field preferredCurrent CPR if applicableTB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsMust be at least 18 years of ageBenefits
