Electrical Engineer II

Overview

Electrical Engineer II role at Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) with Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS). MSTS manages and operates NNSS for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Our mission is to support security through high-hazard experimentation, incident response capabilities, and environmental stewardship; our vision is to be the user site of choice for large-scale national security experimentation. Approximate site location and work scope are described below.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall cognizance of assigned facility systems, providing systems engineering support for operations and maintenance, and supporting line management safety responsibilities to ensure continued system readiness.
• Validate physical configuration of assigned systems; maintain and update system configuration management documentation; understand functions and performance criteria per the Safety Basis and act as the subject matter expert for assigned systems.
• Conduct or oversee in-service inspections and technical surveillance requirements for assigned systems.
• Contribute to solutions for assignment-related problems of moderate scope and complexity using established standards and practices; evaluate processes as needed.
• Develop field programs and designs using pre-determined principles and practices; select and implement computer applications for field use.
• Prepare or contribute to designs, strategies, reports, and technical proposals; perform design and technical analyses using prescribed codes, standards, software, and best practices.
• Coordinate discipline information with other departments and outside vendors; work with outside vendors as required.
• Develop working knowledge of codes and standards of other disciplines; coordinate work within the discipline on moderately complex projects; often participate as a member of work teams.
• Define specifications for procurements and initiate purchase requests; monitor the work of technicians and other support personnel.

Salary range : $81,307.20 - $121,971.20 annually. Starting salary is determined by market value, education, experience, and internal equity.
