Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Location and Schedule
Nevada National Security Site (NNSS), approximately 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, NV. Work schedule : 4 / 10s, Monday through Thursday, 7 : 00 am to 5 : 30 pm (subject to change).
Responsibilities
- Perform duties as a facility / system engineer for the NNSS Facility as an Engineer for Fleet, Fuel, and Equipment Services (FF&E) within the Critical Site Infrastructure Division; report to the Fleet, Fuel, & Equipment Manager.
- Support and execute FF&E Fleet and Equipment activities and assist Facility Hoisting and Rigging Program activities; ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, ASME, DOE H&R Standards, and company documents.
- Interact with all levels of management and SME counterparts to exchange information across the site and complex.
- Maintain cognizance of assigned facility systems, provide systems engineering support for operations and maintenance, and support line management safety responsibilities to ensure operational readiness.
- Select and implement computer applications for the field.
- Prepare or contribute to designs, strategies, reports, and technical proposals.
- Give quarterly presentations on heavy construction equipment and underground equipment health and status.
- Perform design and technical analyses using prescribed codes, standards, software, and best practices.
- Coordinate discipline information with other departments and outside vendors; work with vendors for specification verification as needed.
- Develop working knowledge of codes and standards of other disciplines; coordinate work within the discipline on moderately complex projects; participate as a member of work teams.
- Define specifications for procurements and initiate purchase requests; evaluate processes and procedures to improve performance.
- Prepare work statements for complex subcontracts and procurements; evaluate bids and make recommendations for awards.
- Occasional travel to vendor facilities for specification verification.
Qualifications
US Citizenship is required for all positions.
Bachelor's degree in an ABET-accredited engineering program for Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering; or calculus-based STEM bachelor's degree in engineering; or Architect credentials from NCARB; or Professional Engineer license.Plus at least 2 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated ability to interpret codes and standards within the discipline; professional demeanor and ability to maintain relationships at all levels.Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical personnel.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; very proficient with CAD.Must possess a valid driver's license.Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 PIV credential under DOE Order 206.2 and NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2.Work environment and selection details : The primary work location is NNSS; pre-placement physical examination including drug screen is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Compensation and Benefits
Annual salary range : $81,307.20 – $121,971.20. Starting salary is determined based on market value, candidate education and experience, and internal equity.
