Job descriptionDirect, hands-on experience migrating and managing workloads in Azure (beyond third-party oversight). Strong infrastructure background : VMware, networking, Windows servers, and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Exchange, SharePoint, Defender, etc.). Proven cost awareness in Azure with the ability to track usage, forecast, and optimize spend. Solid knowledge of Azure IaaS (VMs, VNet / Networking, Storage) and Azure SQL (PaaS and / or Managed Instance). Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills; comfortable collaborating in a hybrid, team-driven environment.
iWorld Professionals is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer for our client in Buffalo, NY. This is a hybrid position. If you are interested to join a growing company and having an impact on their IT migration to a full cloud environment, then this position is for you!
Cloud Operations Engineer Responsibilities :
- Lead Azure migration : Drive the transition of on-prem (VMware) workloads into Azure using best practices and tools such as Azure Migrate.
- Operate & optimize Azure : Configure and support Azure virtual machines, networking, storage, and Azure SQL; monitor performance and proactively manage / optimize cloud spend.
- Keep infrastructure running smoothly : Troubleshoot servers, switches, and networks across a multi-site environment to ensure reliability and uptime.
- Partner & influence : Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors; contribute to design decisions and explore new technologies to strengthen the environment.
- Document & improve : Produce clear documentation and play a key role in operational readiness and continuous improvement.
Cloud Operations Engineer Requirements :
