About the Department :

Our Neurosurgery unit specializes in caring for patients with Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Neurovascular conditions. This is a fast-paced unit that offers numerous learning opportunities for nursing students or anyone eager to hone their CNA skills.

Position Overview :

As a compassionate Nursing Assistant, you will provide essential patient-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). You will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our unit, bringing support during patients' best and worst moments. This role is incredibly rewarding as you will have the chance to make a difference in your patients' lives while developing your own skills.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assist with basic health care needs such as bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating, while also addressing emotional and spiritual needs.
• Record vital statistics, blood glucose levels, and other basic health information.
• Assist patients with transfers and ambulation.
• Perform clerical duties related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare.
• Prepare and clean treatment areas, living spaces, and medical equipment.
• Dispose of biomedical waste in compliance with standards and policies.

Qualifications :

A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not mandatory. A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred. If you are working in North Dakota (ND) and do not currently hold a CNA certification, you must be listed on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry upon completion of training or within four months of employment.
