Position is responsible for receiving, evaluating, and dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls for the Department of Public Works (DPW) and other related Departments.

Position Responsibilities :

Answers emergency and non-emergency telephone calls and radio requests as required.

Re-transmits information received to appropriate personnel or agencies as needed.

Maintains all paper and / or computerized records as required by Central Dispatch.

Monitors United Water equipment and report problems as directed.

Maintains confidentiality of all information.

Qualifications :

High School diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year experience is preferred.

Ability to effective communicate orally and in writing.

Ability to learn and fluently operate a computer system, radio system and any other related equipment.

Ability to read a map and have basic knowledge of City of Indianapolis geography.

Independent Judgment Position requires the knowledge of established policies and procedures, which controls most of the incumbent(s) actions.
