Job Description
The maintenance supervisor will act as first line supervisor, directing and coordinating activities for several units of skilled journeyman, maintenance mechanics, plumbers, welders, electricians, and outside contractors.

Duties :
- Directing activities of maintenance mechanics strong emphasis placed on employee development, performance expectations, and ensuring proper training as it relates to their job function.
- Maintaining positive employee relations by providing a people-oriented work environment designed to motivate employees and reduce turnover.
- Ensuring fast reaction & responses to repair calls / equipment breakdowns and timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- Actively participate in all plant safety initiatives and promotes safety and housekeeping initiatives.
- Installing, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling production equipment.
- Performing sanitary welding on equipment and food processing piping.
- Troubleshooting identifying worn parts & rebuilding machine assemblies, pumps, meters, valves & valve actuators.
- Will start up & operate production machinery and equipment.
- Participation in facility maintenance and preventive maintenance programs.
- Safe handling and use of various chemicals with strict adherence to Hazardous communication & MSDS requirements.
- Analyze electro-mechanical devices, trouble shoot failures and implement repairs
- Prepare and conduct timely employee performance evaluations according to Company standards.
- Communicates Safety, Quality, and Food Safety policies to all employees. Ensures such policies are applied by all employees.
- Supports food safety, quality and legality.
- Implement, support, and maintain quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs.
- Incorporate and support GMP''s and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
- Implements and monitors overall production performance and quality standards and ensure objectives are established, documented, monitored, and reviewed. Ensure non-conformities identified in quality programs are addressed and corrected.
- Communicates Safety, Quality, and Food Safety policies to all employees.
- Support, and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs and legality.

Skills / Work Experience :
Strong knowledge of good manufacturing practices for food processing facilitiesAbility to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.Personal computer skills to include spreadsheet software and word processing software (MS Word & Excel).Proven competency in supervisory activities which require conflict management, developing subordinates, directing subordinates, managing and measuring performance, motivating, building team spirit and morale, and understanding diverse viewpoints.Qualifications :
Proven experience as maintenance supervisor or similar role5+ years’ experience in the distribution or manufacturing field with equivalent experience in the mechanical or electrical field.Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.)Knowledge of health and safety practices and regulationsUnderstanding of budgeting and performance managementExcellent planning and leadership abilities, an eye for detail, computer savvyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsHigh school diploma; Degree from a vocational school will be a plusProfessional Certifications (e.g. CMRP or HVAC certified) are preferred
