OVERVIEW OF POSITION :

Conducts experiments and maintains systems to develop chemical processes and products.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION – ENGINEERING :

• Conducts experiments in accordance with procedure and maintains records to develop complex, new and improved chemical manufacturing processes.
• Assists with design, documentation and formulation of complex chemical products such as synthetic rubber and thermoplastic compounds.
• Executes sampling, analysis and testing techniques used in the characterization of polymer products and precursor raw materials.
• Reviews data, observes and recommends measures for optimizing operations such as mixing, coating and heat transfer.
• Implements production and processing methods, documentation and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost-effective manner.
• Investigates and identifies solutions to work-in process problems.
• Implements improvements and / or modifications in materials, operations, equipment and other process related factors.
• Adopts, utilizes and maintains ISO 9000 procedures and documentation with attention to detail.
• Reviews variances in operational data and initiates troubleshooting for resolution.
• Works closely and communicates effectively with other engineering and functional areas to accomplish tasks.
• Executes any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
