  • Position Overview The Events Coordinator supports both internal programs and external client events, delivering exceptional experiences that reflect NVMM’s mission and honor Veterans.
  • They develop sales packages, manage event logistics, and collaborate closely with clients, staff, and partners to ensure seamless execution.
  • By supporting revenue goals and community relationships, this role strengthens NVMM’s impact and reach as a gathering place for service and connection.
  • Essential Job Responsibilities Event Planning, Coordination, and Execution Secure, plan, and execute a wide variety of public and private events in alignment with NVMM’s mission.
  • Create room layouts using software and coordinate thorough walkthroughs to ensure optimal guest experience.
  • Complete setup, execution, and strike of events utilizing vendors, volunteers, and guest-facing staff to ensure seamless visitor experiences.
  • Support coordination of schedules for volunteers, security, and janitorial staff to ensure adequate coverage for events.
  • Vendor and Partner Management Coordinate contractors and vendors to develop and deliver event packages for clients.
  • Support the Events and Sales Manager in vendor relations, including negotiating costs and services, arranging food and beverage, and managing audiovisual equipment needs.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with vendors that support NVMM’s mission and help drive event revenue.
  • Revenue Growth and Team Development Steward current clients to identify opportunities for additional event revenue and repeat bookings.
  • Support sales and booking strategy as developed by the Events & Protocol Manager by identifying and developing creative event packages and production concepts for new and existing clients.
  • Contribute to setting annual team goals to advance NVMM’s impact and financial sustainability.
  • Qualifications                 Required Experienced self-starter that shows strong initiative combined with effective planning and logistical coordination.
  • Exemplifies professionalism in all interactions.
  • General computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, event software, contracts, and tracking event details.
  • Demonstrated strong ability to work independently as well as in partnership with cross-departmental teams.
  • Must have a flexible schedule that is able to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays to support the diverse calendar of programs and events.
  • Work Environment and Physical Requirements Primarily in an office and museum event setting, with regular interaction with guests, vendors, and community partners.
  • Hybrid environment that includes office-based work, event spaces, and occasional outdoor settings.
  • Non-standard hours, including nights and weekends, are common.
  • Must be able to push / pull / lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
