Gurwin Healthcare System is a Life Plan Community with a full continuum of care providing extraordinary care and caring to the people that we serve. Set on a 36-acre campus in Commack, NY, the Gurwin Healthcare System includes the 460-bed Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, providing short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, memory care, respiratory and ventilator care, palliative and hospice care, social and medical adult day programs, and on-site dialysis and infusion therapy. Sharing the campus is Gurwin’s Assisted Living community (Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences), our independent living community (Fountaingate Gardens) and Gurwin Certified and Licensed Home Care Services Agencies. Island Nursing and Rehab Center, located in Holtsville, was added to the System in early 2020.
Position Summary
The CFO will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for all financial aspects of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial acumen and proven experience in the post-acute care industry. You will be instrumental in balancing high-quality patient care with financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy : Develop and execute financial strategies that support the company's long-term growth and mission.
Financial Management : Oversee all financial management activities, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, payroll, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Budgeting and Forecasting : Lead the annual budgeting process and provide accurate financial forecasting to support operational decision-making.
Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with all accounting principles and healthcare regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rules.
Cost Management : Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to optimize financial performance while maintaining high standards of care.
Technology Integration : Drive the implementation of financial technology to improve efficiency and strategic capabilities.
Internal Controls : Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Financial Analysis : Provide in-depth financial analysis and reporting to the President and CEO and Board of Directors.
Leadership : Lead and mentor the finance, accounting and payroll teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Qualifications
Experience : Proven experience as a CFO or in a similar senior financial leadership role within the post-acute care industry.
Education : A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A CPA designation is preferred.
Skills :
Strong understanding of healthcare financial principles, regulations, and reimbursement models.
Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Advanced proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Excel.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Benefits :
